Silent Reading Party

Come and join us for some blissful offline time at a beautiful setting in Nadur, Gozo…

What is a Silent Reading Party?

Silent Reading Parties have emerged onto the social scene as a way to mingle with no pressure; to gather without online distraction.

A Silent Reading Party is a space where we get together, read for a while and connect a little afterwards. It allows us to be together in the same space while immersing ourselves in an individual activity we enjoy. Many people come to indulge in their current book of choice, but you don’t happen to enjoy reading, don’t worry! Feel free to bring a sketch pad, crossword, jigsaw puzzle, Rubik’s cube, or whatever can keep you quietly and happily occupied for about an hour without an internet connection.

Who can attend?

This SRP is open to both adults and children. Older children (approximately 7+) may join in, and read or play for the intended hour.
If you’d like to come along with younger children, please reach out to the host to ensure that the venue is safe and suitable for them.

This is a great event for people who would like to attend solo, though group bookings are most welcome as well.

What should I expect?

You’ll be attending a small gathering in a peaceful open setting. You should plan to arrive on time, and will have half an hour to settle into the space, introduce yourself to others , and find a spot to sit and read comfortably. Once everyone arrives, a full hour will be dedicated to silent reading (or silently enjoying your activity of choice). When the hour is up, attendees may come together to enjoy some light refreshments and chat for a while before heading off.

What should I bring?

You should bring a book (or alternative activity), and a reusable plate and cup for light refreshments. A folding chair is also recommended, as this event will take place in a public space. A few benches are available for those unable to bring a chair.

The host will provide a small selection of books for those who need to borrow one.

Is the venue accessible?

This event will take place in a small public park - San Blas Park in Nadur. The space is well-accessible for pedestrians and wheelchair-users, as well as persons attending with a child in a pushchair. You may contact the host for further details about the location.

Does the venue have parking spots available?

There is ample parking close to the chosen venue.
